Pastor Whittle was born in Joplin, MO (before the tornado!) and attended school in the small town of Diamond, MO. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Northeast Missouri State University (now known as Truman State University) in Kirksville, MO. He went on to attend Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis where he received his Master of Divinity and Master of Sacred Theology before being called to Hope Lutheran Church in Hermitage, MO and Our Savior Lutheran Church in Buffalo, MO. He was ordained on July 18, 1999. In late 2002, Pastor Whittle received the call to serve Hope Lutheran Church in Republic, MO, where he remained until the summer of 2013. In the fall of 2013, he began the PhD program at Concordia Seminary, studying in the area of systematics. He is still working on that degree. He had served as the vacancy pastor at St. John's Lutheran Church - Stringtown for nearly a year when they called him to be their pastor. He was installed August 19, 2018.
Pastor Whittle and his wife Carrie (celebrating more than 20 years of marriage) live in Columbia, MO, where they are raising their daughter Emma.
Still being worked out.
